I totally wasn't gonna buy any more fabric this year. The one allowed exception was coating fabric, because my current coat is starting to show its age.

I just bought a couple of cotton shirts, & I have a question about shrinkage. Does cotton shrink •every time• it's washed/dryed? Or is there a point at which it's reached its max shrinkage & stays there?
Also, does it shrink preferentially in both directions (warp & weft)? Or does it shrink uniformly in all directions?
(To be clear, I bought them slightly oversized so they'd have some slop, so some shrinkage is fine.)

- 100% cotton jersey fabric (no elastane or polyester!! I might consider blends with other natural fibres)
- In a range of nice earthy or neutral, solid colours
- Extra bonus points if the colours are marl/melange/heather
- For delivery to the UK (I am willing to pay for international shipping)
