Incredible Valentine's Day lunch at Plantuguese in #Bristol. We had the francesinha and the bacalhau, and yes that cod fillet is vegan!
Carrying on our #vegan Valentine's weekend @SaintlySin and I had the loveliest, most restful and relaxing weekend at The Base in #Bristol https://thebaseretreat.co.uk/, a luxury cabin and spa that funds an animal sanctuary full of friendly, charismatic animals who are very keen to hang out with visitors! We had a lovely time meeting curious, chatty turkeys and ducks, eating delicious cooked breakfasts (including gluten free!) and getting soggy on purpose in the spa as opposed to just getting rained on.

The old Debenhams department store in Bristol has been turned into an indoor skate park called "Shredenhams". Lots of little kids crashing about in the morning, and teens/adults in the evening. Great use of vacant urban spaces.

I spent Wednesday lunchtime plant hunting in #Bristol and only found this single Hairy Bittercress plant. I think this is a new one for the fence line around my favourite building site. #WildflowerHour #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography
The Rue leaved Saxifrage at a car park near our office isn't quite out yet. Lots of leaves, no flowers. #WildflowerHour #Bristol #botany #plants #flowers #photography

Just had a call with a person from #bristol who is engaged in civic and environmental things. They are convinced of the badness of Monopoly Social Media and serious about trying to move off.
They are looking for something local-first, to foster in-group connection and coworking. To network outwards as well.
What's good these days?
The same is true in Bristol.
We get our oat milk delivered, 3 times a week, in glass bottles.
@urlyman
In Manchester you can get it in glass bottles, from the milkman.
The regular milk delivery is a very valuable but largely invisible support to communities. That persistent presence can give security and alert to untoward things, like bottles building up on a doorstep.
And resource use is lower. And supermarket profits a little lower too?
The same is true in Bristol.
