I left a wildlife camera with my neighbour to see what critters visit the fields and woods next door, and I’m now going through the pics. Initially he had sheep in the field with the cam so there are A LOT of sheep pics but this one made me laugh out loud.

I’ve blown the cobwebs away with a walk around the block and said hello to the sheep. I think this is some of the gang of bottle-fed lambs, now almost grown up. Still friendly and hoping for food.

I noticed people posting sheep pictures with a hashtag #Defaidodon and I thought that it must be a folk celebration from pre-christian times or something.
Y'all. The -odon comes from "mastodon" and defaid means sheep. It's literally "sheepodon" and 3 years old.
Amazing. Keep going. We're replacing religions here.
It's #DefaidodonDay! All sheep are Welsh today! These were sighted on the Isle of Skye.
Now I'm home, my contribution to #Defaidodon are some peerie lambs from the field next to our house. Photos taken back in lambing season (end April, early May). The field gets used as a bit of a nursery for the newborns.

Pushing the limits of #DefaidodonDay a bit, here's me with my favourite sheep 10 years ago.

So, here's a sheepie doing what they do.

I have no pics for #Defaidodon as I am both in town, away from the sheep, and thick fog has descended upon Lerwick, so I cannae see any sheep anyway. 🐑 But I am enjoying my feed all the same.
Delighted to see so many people sharing sheep on #dydddefaidodon #defaidodonday :)
I'm currently recovering from surgery, so I haven't been able to get out & about to photograph local sheep.
I live on the chalk, in the Chiltern Hills of SE England. Farming is mostly arable, but there are some conservation grazing projects featuring Hebridean breed #sheep #Defaidodon
Happy defaidodon day, here's some woolly frens that I found near Wells in August.

Spent the last hour looking for, finding and dragging home one of my young soay rams. He’s friendly enough but had made his way over a couple of fences, across the lane, down a neighbour’s driveway and into the field with some big ewes. Needless to say he didn’t want to leave 🙄 #Defaidodon
What the shepherd is wearing today 🙄wellies with yellow overtrousers and a green waterproof jacket and a fluorescent vest over the top. #Defaidodon
