Uni Vienna @univienna is advertising three part-time (23h) lecturer positions with 8 teaching contact hours: "Foundations of Political Science", "'Quantitative Methods and the Political System of Austria", and "Qualitative Methods and Policy Studies". The positions are fixed-term (4y) but with tenure track. If, like me, you've consumed your grace period under the #Wissenschaftsverhinderungsgesetz, your are out of luck because the Uni would have to give you tenure right away. Bummer.

But surely the Uni needs to see for another four years whether you are really a suitable candidate and a good fit. And perhaps after four years they might suddenly need to stop teaching PolSci, so the position really has to be fixed-term for some time. Totally understandable.
Anyway, here they are:

If the Court of Justice of the European Union is, as is often argued, the most powerful international court the world has seen, why is serious resistance against it not more commonplace?
This is the question I ask in my PhD thesis, which I successfully defended at the #EUI last Friday. Today it has been made available open access through the university repository!

"OWS had a justifiable concern that any ... affiliation would inevitably lead to the seven stages of political futility: cooptation, division, dilution, pacification, neutralization, disappointment and betrayal. Because of these concerns, what one sees coming out of the Occupy movement is not an exercise of politics defined by the normal terms and conditions of any conventional political science."
