Aight so me and two other good folks are starting a tech workers' cooperative. We've got plenty of stuff against us.
None of us have worked in a workers' cooperative or other kind of democratic workplace before.
There are barely a handful workers' coops in Norway. The national umbrella org for coops in Norway is basically dead and doesn't care about workers' coops at all.
Our coop is geographically distributed evenly along Norway, which means our northernmost worker-member would have to drive 24 hours by car or 44 hours by public transport to reach our southernmost worker-member.

We've put in effort to reduce our weaknesses, and we've got things going for us too.
We've met and continue to meet with other workers' coops to learn from them and collaborate. We've got potential clients and pilot projects. We've got hardware. We've got tech and business know-how. We're working on the formal stuff, bylaws and agreements.

It's going great.

Armed miners and textile workers, members of the CNT, declared "Libertarian communism," including the abolition of money and property. The revolt quickly spread to other nearby towns. They cut telephone lines and replaced Republican flags with the red and black CNT flags. By January 27, the authorities had quashed the rebellion. They deported hundreds of rebels to African colonies. The detainees included Buenaventura Durruti, who would later lead the Durruti Column of anarchist soldiers against the fascist armies of Francisco Franco.

There's a lot of discussion about George #Orwell and #1984 around, and i'm happy.

Although I agree that both #AnimalFarm and 1984 were clearly a critique of the Soviet Union, I would also claim that they were not direct critiques of #Communism as such & definitely not critiques of Marxism.

What these excellent pieces really were, were critiques of concentration of #power. That the object of power always becomes power of itself. Noble aims become corrupted & corruption can be framed as good.

The world feels like it is burning. Between corporate greed, the loss of ownership, and a justice system that feels broken, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.

And yet, I am still optimistic.

I am optimistic because of you. Every time you shout at an injustice or refuse to stay quiet, you give me hope. I truly believe there are sunny days ahead because we are fighting for them together. ☀️

In prison, he launched a hunger strike against prison conditions, but was forcibly fed. The Nazis beheaded him on January 10, 1934 by guillotine. In 2008, the German government posthumously pardoned him. Van der Lubbe claimed to have set the fire in order to inspire the German working-class to rise up against fascism. He also claimed to have acted alone. However, the Nazis tried to make it into a communist conspiracy and arrested several other communists, who were ultimately acquitted of involvement in the fire. Many on the left, including the Comintern, or Third International (1919-1943), falsely claimed he was a Nazi agent and provocateur, or that it was a Nazi-run false flag operation. Lenin, whom founded the Comintern, hated the Council (Left-wing) Communists and lambasted them in his 1920 screed: "Left-Wing" Communism: An Infantile Disorder.”
