As I was cleaning up my GitHub repos and migrating what I can to Codeberg, I ran across this long forgotten gem - a colleciton of U.S. state information - flags, photos, seals, twitter and facebook accounts, all kinds of things.
Sadly it was abandoned 8 years ago, but much of the content is still relevant. I keep hoping it will get picked up again by someone - hint hint.

Whilst many here in England fly their flags, proud to be British, I couldn't be any more ashamed. Whilst "White British" for me has only ever been a checkbox on a form, for others it is their entire identity.
How boring, plain and empty does someone have to be for that to be the extent of who they are? To be so fearful of anyone even slightly beyond the basic, that it makes them hate with such passion? Creates such a desperate need within themselves to protect that, by pulling those people below themselves and trampling all over them.
I know these people well. They've bullied me at school. Bullied me in the workplace, and bullied me in the streets.
Yet for me, compared to others, I might first appear to be a "White British", just like them, but with a weirdness that doesn't pigeonhole easily, which always put me on the brunt.
I stand by trans. I stand by immigrants. I stand by homosexuals. I stand by neurodivergents. I stand by the creatives, and everyone who's existence offends them.
There are more of us together than there are of them. The fight has only just begun.

In March, the state of Utah passed a law[1] restricting which flags could be flown by city councils. This stopped the council of Salt Lake City from flying the pride, trans, and Juneteenth flags.
One of the kinds of flag allowed by the new law is an official city flag. Therefore, Salt Lake City has just introduced three new flags, which are the three flags just mentioned with a sago lily in the corner.[2].
