I went down to the river.
It’s an estuary at this point. The rocks are covered in lichen and lovely cushion-y moss.

Various lichens such as Felt Horn lichen (Cladonia phyllophora) with its brown fruiting bodies (apothecia) that look like small trees, or the single yellow-green podetium of a small Lipstick Powderhorn lichen (probably Cladonia macilenta) with a red fruiting body grow in the light green Haircap moss covered with water droplets from the morning dew.

While searching for lichens, I discovered this pretty orange goldfish on a rock on the beach.
It must have jumped out of Lake Huron... 🤔
