I’m still learning a lot at @roost.tools but I’m at the point where I want to start talking to the folks in my circles and beyond who could benefit from open source trust and safety tools.

I brought this up to the Mastodon team (no response yet), but I wonder if the solution, at least a temporary one, to the problem where people get harassed with followers-only posts that @ mention them, thus hiding these posts from public view and moderators, and allowing the abuser's followers to pile on, could be as simple as allowing to filter out such notifications.

I don't pick fights between open protocols. I do have my preferences, but it's ridiculous to war between open factions when the dragon we're all trying to slay is proprietary, centralized, extractive, monopolistic tech.

So I will not name names.

But I do find it alarming when someone working on an open protocol says they don't know what Trust & Safety is.

And I'm really proud of the investment and progress we're making in T&S at @matrix.
