We have to bulld a new healthier open social web. The current closed, commercialized siloes are indeed a cancer.

@span tchambers facebook, threads, bluesky are the WRONG answer, as the current events have clearly shown.

EVERY corporate owned (yes, blewski is vc crypto techbro owned) is a toxic negative entity. NO, none of them are the Fediverse, just unfortunately "bridged" to here.

No exceptions.

Just got an email from #apple about podcasts with links to their #xitter, #TikTok and #facebook accounts. Seems so weak.

Why don't these other big tech players try to take down their competitors by promoting #ActivityPub? It would cost them nothing. Run a server etc. Promote it in their other products. Fund development just a little. They don't need to win, just weaken the other guys.

I was told this is how capitalism works :P

Their side quest to speed run the history of Titter continues : P

As @LaurensHof points out, once again they're claiming to "distribute power", while building infrastructure in ways that totally centralises power in their hands. It's getting hard to assume this is a good faith mistake, rather than a cynical reputation laundering strategy.
