On 24th January transphobic fascists plan to rally in manchester against allowing the use of puberty blockers for trans youth.
Puberty blockers have been used widely for decades by trans youth to delay puberty and alleviate the distress caused by bodily changes they don’t want. Despite the lifeline they offer to young trans people the government banned their use indefinitely in 2024 and has now initiated a limited 226 person medical trial on the use of blockers. We must fight back against this attack on trans youth’s bodily autonomy and the coercion of trans youth into medical trials that continue the denial and obstruction of their health care. We must resist TERFs that deploy fascist rhetoric on trans people under the guise of feminism. As trans people face greater violence everyday, from fascists on the street to those in government, we must unite in self-defence against a system which is violently imposing patriarchal gender roles.
