#Google trips over its own words, when they sell you #Android it's the best computing device in the world that does everything. After you bought it Google doesn't let you do anything *you* want to.
#Sideload is a made-up term. Putting software on your computer is simply called “installing”, regardless of whether that computer is in your pocket or on your desk.
What Do You Talk About When You Talk About Sideloading?
What does Google?
Here's #FDroid: https://f-droid.org/2025/10/28/sideloading.html
Our nonprofit group's award winning, prosocial, non-violent video games were removed by #Google.
🤥 They claimed that we had misled them by classifying them as #educational. Google purported to know more about our work than we do.
🎮 Our free games about #consent and #healthyrelationships were unilaterally removed from Google Play, making it much tougher for us to reach and help young people.
🧡 The ubiquity of smartphones make game marketplaces a necessary channel for us to reach #adolescents directly.

I see this almost every day: whenever you talk about an app, product, idea, or anything really, someone online jumps in with, "I'm amazed you support this because those people are awful," or worse, "you liked something that someone thinks is evil, so you must support this evil thing." Basically, "why aren’t you perfect?"
I advocate for open platforms while still using commercial ones. I listen to both black metal and jazz. I don't own a car by choice. I'm sober, but I still eat meat. I use Signal, deleted WhatsApp and X, but I stay on Meta platforms like Instagram and Threads. I use Linux, but also a Mac. I value more leftist values, but some think I'm a corporate tech bro asshole by having my own business and aiming for profit. I contribute to open source but host my projects on GitHub instead of purely libre alternatives, and so on...
People forget that contradictions are part of being human. You can stand for good things, but you'll never be perfect. That's life. That's human. We live in a society where everyone supports something harmful, whether unknowingly or by choice.
For me, there's a certain line, but not everything has to affect me. They are my values for a reason. I live only by my values. For instance, extramusical issues don't strongly influence my listening habits, although there are some exceptions, they are rare. The Steelfest black metal festival faces criticism from antifascist networks each year, regardless of whether fascist bands are involved or not. I've been accused of being a silent supporter of many things.
I'm just so tired of this. Everyone has their own values, and we can try to live by them, but please, stop judging others in pursuit of moral superiority. Focus on your own choices and values.
#KnowThyself and thy #CoreValues and that’s more than 99% of society not exercising its #CriticalThinking skills.
After 400+ issues tracking digital literacy, I'm convinced the biggest AI risk isn't machines getting too smart. It's us getting too comfortable with cognitive shortcuts.

Plot twist: asking "Is ChatGPT Making You Stupid?" while potentially using AI to think about it 🤔
The real insight? AI should be "the beginning of thought, not the end." It's not about avoiding AI, but using it to enhance rather than replace our thinking.
Are you treating AI as a crutch or a catalyst?

Data manipulation within the US Federal Government [1]
👉Government datasets modified without notice.
▪️We gathered metadata from the US Department of Health and Human Services, CDC, and Veterans Affairs database harvest sources [... ] that were modified between Jan 20 and March 25, 2025.
▪️We found that 114 (49%) of the 232 included datasets were substantially altered.
⭐SOME CHANGES⭐
- “Social determinants of health” to “non
medical factors”
- “Gender” to “sex”
- “female details” column deleted
▪️The agencies involved have not issued any statements confirming or explaining these changes [...]
▪️Despite Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr's (Department of Health and Humana Services) calls for “radical transparency”, unlogged data manipulation moves away from meaningful transparency.
▪️Only 15 (13%) of the 114 altered datasets logged or otherwise indicated that the change had occurred.
