It seems that in Cape Town at least, the xenophobic march was a failure. Cops outnumbered marchers, & marchers didn't far outnumber counter-demonstrators. No looting or assaults recorded.
Belatedly, the anti-xenophobia campaigners are approaching immigrant shopkeepers (via their Business Forum) to support flood relief.
I did say Iran would likely be willing to give him SOMETHING because they're not fucking crazy like we are - so, that sorta makes sense to me. But it's gonna set up another US maximalist negotiation in 2 months and when Iran doesn't just do whatever Trump says... well, what recourse is he gonna have besides "do a THIRD attack on Iran?"

The far-right have also learned that they can target their critics via their employers and cause them to lose their livelihood, we have no laws protecting working class people from being fired for speaking out against hate. It's created a chilling effect where people are afraid to speak out
