@Taweret TRYING HARD NOOOOOOW
Last week's elections showed the power of women voters, who delivered decisive wins for Democrats across the nation. In response, the right's Christian nationalist wing is calling for the repeal of the 19th Amendment. Could this radical agenda splinter the MAGA movement, or will it pull more of the base toward extremism? https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/repeal-19th-amendment-christian-nationalism

@futurebird I think it is not so much a replacement as a different term
A post that goes viral flares up into a huge spike of attention but just as quickly dies down again
A post that goes mycelial keeps getting smaller spikes of attention over time as one person with a relatively isolated but well-connected network who hadn't seen it before discovers and shares it
Mozilla announces more AI in Firefox, still failing to understand that at this point their market share is made of tech savvy people who do not want that.
Mozilla, please. Stop chasing the fads. Get your own values.
People use Firefox to get access to an open web, use a sturdy browser, and not to be tracked. Build in that direction and that direction only.
Nobody from your current user base will recommend Firefox with AI to their friends.

@Taweret I love how they fumbled about to hold up a makeshift curtain as if to say, “Nothing to see here! Absolutely nothing at all.” But the curtain draws more attention than the fallen robot itself!

US spy satellites built by SpaceX send signals in the “wrong direction”
It seems US didn't coordinate Starshield's unusual spectrum use with other countries.

There's something so funny to me, that we tend to celebrate chefs, who have access to the best food in the world. I mean, if you're serving me A5 beef, truffles, French handmade cheese, and the finest organic veggies available, then you'd have to be a real fuck up to make this bad. And there's nothing wrong with enjoying a meal like this occasionally, but there's something so much more interesting, in people who were given very little and still made something delicious, that has stayed with us. Enslaved people making delicious healthy Potlicker out of discarded bones and greens, poor Cajun-Creole making a beans and rice into a masterpiece, Irish, making potatoes 100+ ways, because it's what they had. If you can make something delicious out of dollars store food, that is just more impressive to me.
