Do you remember the surprise announcement of a new social network in Davos this past January? Something that promised to be the "first" European social network?
Its name is #WSocial and it's a fork of #Bluesky. Its founders have ties with European politicians - but there is no official involvement by the EU.

@EUCommission und trotzdem machen wir gute Geschäfte mit Russland sein es Gas und Öl sei es Uran oder andere Mittel, wir finanzieren den Krieg gegen die Ukraine mit und tun doch so als wenn wir auf der Seite der Ukraine stehen. Sorry schon bei den Angriff auf die Krim hätte man Handeln müssen und zwar entschlossen und man hat nichts gelernt Völkerrechtswidrige Aktionen erst mal schauen wie man die Profite sichert bevor man vielleicht handelt.
So about this. Oregon banned OTC sale of real Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) in 2005. I, a person who then had to periodically jump through hoops to get prescription pseudoephedrine to keep my lungs from crashing, did not know this had been repealed in 2022 until…this week?

I wasn't on social media in 2022, really, so maybe that's why I didn't know, but I feel like this is a great example of how weird our comms channels are for things that aren't ad campaigns or big news. My primary care doc never mentioned it. Maybe he didn't know either?

@gsc yeah you would think so. But in the Chrome example, it actually redownloads the 4gb model to the user's device if they have deleted the file. So the Chrome team stand in defiance of what we imagine to be a universal value.
Fascism is incompatible with democracy.
Because most people don't want fascism, and democracy is "Government by what most people want."
The closest facsimile possible, is "Misrepresentative Democracy" where people vote for representatives, but the victims of fascism have less power to choose them.
